How to Create an Amazon Music Playlist
You have several ways to create an Amazon Music playlist. So you can use the method that suits you best.
After logging into Amazon Music, you will see a dashboard with a menu on the left side. Below My Reading Listsclick it Create a playlist button. Give it a name when prompted and click To safeguard.
2. Create a playlist from a song choice
If you find a song you want to keep, you can also create a playlist from it. When the song is playing, you’ll see it at the top of the screen.
- Click it Following (three dots icon) button.
- To select Add to playlist.
- Click on Create a new playlist.
- Give it a name and click To safeguard.
If you are looking at a list of songs, click on the Show Options Arrow to the left of the album name. Then follow the steps above.
Now when you find a song you want to add; the name of your new playlist will be displayed when you select Add to playlist. Your new playlist will also appear in the left menu under My Reading Lists.
How to Add Songs to an Amazon Music Playlist
To add a song to your new playlist, you can use the More button at the top if the song is playing or if the Show Options Arrow if you look at a list of songs. Take Add to playlist and select your playlist.

Play, share, rename or delete a playlist
Select your new playlist from the left menu to see the songs in the list along with the options.
You have a simple button to click on if you want Player your reading list. Besides that, you have the option to To share via link, embed code, email, Facebook or Twitter. Finally, you will see a Following (three dots icon) which allows you Rename or delete the reading list. Note that you can also rename or delete your playlist by selecting the arrow next to it in the left menu.
How to Manage Songs in Your Playlist
On your playlist screen, you can easily manage the songs in it. Click it Following button next to one of the songs. You will see a context menu with these options:
- Share Song: Click to share the song with a link, embed code, email or on Facebook or Twitter.
- Add to playlist: Add the song to another playlist.
- Customers also listened: View songs that other listeners of this song have listened to, which will appear on the right side of the screen.
- Remove from Reading List: Remove the song from the playlist.
- See the album: View the album the song is from.
What About Amazon Music Playlists on Mobile
If you listen to your music on the go, during workouts, or at work, grab the Amazon Music app. You can view and play your existing playlists by pressing the My music tab as well as create new ones.
How to Manage a Reading List on Mobile
Similar to the website, you can read, share, edit or delete a playlist. Just press the More button next to the playlist on the Playlists screen for these options. Or create a new playlist by tapping this option above your existing ones.
View and edit a reading list
If you select the playlist, you will be able to view the songs, add more songs, search, and add the playlist to your download queue. For songs in your list, you can delete them, view the album and also use the Customers also listened functionality, just like on the web.

Adding songs is just as easy on your mobile device. Press the More buttonselect Add to playlistand choose your playlist or create a new one.

Listen to your Amazon Music playlist using Alexa
If you’re the proud owner of an Amazon Echo or Echo Dot, taking advantage of it for music is a great way to put it to use. Here are some of the basic Alexa commands for playing music through your Amazon Echo device.
- Alexa, play playlist [name].
- Alexa, add this [song, album, or artist name] to the reading list [name].
- Alexa, create a playlist (Alexa will ask you for the name) or create a named playlist [name].
And remember, simple controls for playing your playlist include Shuffle, Play, Pause, Resume, and Stop.
Your Amazon Alexa app should show Amazon Music as a connected service since you log into it with your Amazon account credentials. But if you’re having trouble getting Alexa to recognize your Amazon Music playlists, you can check that in the Amazon Alexa app.

You should see the email address associated with your Amazon Music subscription. If not, follow the prompts to connect.

Organized Amazon Music Playlists
In addition to creating your own playlists, you can view playlists curated by Amazon Music. It’s a great way to discover new tunes, and both Amazon Music Unlimited and Amazon Prime Music offer playlists.
When you are on the web, you will see the Playlists option under Browse in the left menu. On your mobile device, you will see Playlists in the Browse tongue.
Click or tap the All moods and genres option at the top to narrow down your choices. You can choose from options like Family & Fun or Relaxed & Laid Back depending on your mood, or genres like blues, classic rock or country.
If you find a playlist you like, you can To follow to add it to your menu for easy access. On the web, click the plus sign icon to follow it and on mobile tap the icon Following button and select Follow Reading List. To play it once you follow it, just select it under Followed Reading Lists.
